Yesterday I joined my local CSA. Starting May 15 I will be getting a box of fresh, local, organic produce from the Columbus Natural Food CSA. I am so excited. I have a zillion ideas. Since you will not know what is coming in your box exactly and you know that in 7 days you will get another box, I am looking forward to finding recipes to use the foods that come in the box. The box is supposed to be enough for a family of four.

I am hoping that eating more fresh veg will help in my quest to get healthy. I plan on trying to post pictures and recipes etc on my blog. http://pjslifeandstuff.blogspot.com/

If you would like to find a CSA in your area, here is good place to start: www.localharvest.org

I hope you will join me.

Today is my first scrap book class at the shoppe. anyone on facebook knows this. I must apologize for being totally annoying about that w/ my status. I have been up getting my tools ready. I have already decided my next make and take class will be a best friends page. I have ideas rolling around in my head I will work them out after tonight's hockey game. I am still working on Dragon Con 08 photos and I have yet to do my 08 Hockey book.

On the fam side of things, my parents are coming over the weekend of the 20th. Yeah.. I only get to see them a couple times a year. So I cherish the time. Yes I may even skip hockey games.
(insert Shock here)

Hockey - the sponsor families were assigned. There were not enough families willing to sponsor so 5 families were assigned two players. I was one of those families. I have the two french Canadians. Ian (meep) and the new guy Nicolas Boucher. Nicolas (we call him Nico) speaks almost NO English. So we are having a blast trying to get to know each other. Ian helps, b/c he speaks both languages fluently and has 3 years worth of experience listening to "southern". From what the guys say Southern is nothing like English. So it takes a bit to understand plus we all speak very fast. According to them. Who knew?

I started a blog for my craftyness. Cheryl likes here instructors at the shop to have one. It helps for posting out page samples, etc. For most of you anything posted here is nothing new to you but just incase you might wanna be blog friends. here is the link http://pjslifeandstuff.blogspot.com/

Well off the the shower. on my prayer list: Countess Mary to fell better. Lil to find a job.

OMG it has been awhile since I updated here. Since Dragon Con my life has been kinda crazy. Work is the root of my craziness right now. In between Dragon Con and the following Saturday, I had only three days with my boss to figure out at what point I needed to jump into the pile. Boss went on vacation for a week and BOOM guess what my carefully laid out schedule gets stretched, molded, and altered. That is pretty normal actually but right on the heals of my vacation I didn't have time to get my head around what I needed to do. Anyway that is not going to change so there is no reason to expect it will. So today the exact thing happened. A nice well thought out plan and BAM it changes right at the end of the day. You know if it were not for slackers, I probably would not have job.

I have been making it to the gym 3 days a week. GO me. I love the gym. I love how it makes me feel, I love how unstressed I am when I go. Now if I didn't have to not go to the gym because I am working late, that would be better.

My Disney Pages scrapbook class is on break. I love those classes.

Hockey is getting close. The ice is going down at the rink as we speak.

I miss my YA friends. I miss my bestie.

I purchased space at my local scrapbook shop for their 'yard sale'. This is where the customers bring their scrap booking stuff they no longer wish to keep and they 'sell' it. In the end you get shoppe credit (which is awesome for me, with hockey season on the way) and I have a mega ton butt load of stuff from where I sold Creative Memories that is just sitting here doing nothing. Dave sold a lot of stuff on ebay. Packaged paper, etc.

I have spent a total of 6 hours getting stuff together for this yard sale and I have not even really addressed the single sheet papers yet. I am so shocked I have so much stuff. I have some stickers left to sort through. There will be some storage pieces as well.

It is really a testament to how much stuff you can acquire over the years. It is really shameful.

The yard sale is very popular. It opens at 9 am but people line up starting at 7 am to get in. It is really crazy.

I am not sure how to package the paper together. Does anyone have any ideas? It is 12x12 prints and 8x10 prints.

Thanks

Saturday started out with the parade!! The parade has morphed into this non con goer's free peak at Dragon Con. Last year I had a panel that conflicted with the Parade but not this year. Taking a year off made the parade sort of feel like new. Not really though.

After the parade Dave and I went to the Walk of Fame and obtained two Peter Facinelli autographs (one for me and one for Stacey) and A bonus Justin Chon (Eric Yorkie) both are from Twilight. This was the year of the bargain pricing on autographs. Nimoy and Shatner were $75 each and I passed. Patrick Stewart was $200 - Passed. I didn't pay over $25 for any autograph. Sweet. So the inflated prices from the past two years seem to have changed. It was strange how every to walk through the Walk of Fame and to see so many autographs you already have.

Dave and I went to the Tom Felton Panel. Tom plays Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies. He was very nice and pretty funny. We left there and tired to brave the Twilight Line but I was not willing to wait an hour to sit for 30 minutes before they came to speak.

Dave and I went to the Exhibitor Hall (one of them) and then I went back to the room to power nap. Dave walked around the other Exhibitor Hall. Then I attended the Sci Fi in YAL panel and chatted w/ Suzane and Bev.

The joke of the day was trying to find somewhere to eat dinner. Trader Vics - full, Food Court - packed, High Velocity - 45 minute wait. So we settled on a Mexican restaurant that was very busy.

so known as "that line is how long?"

After a long day packing and getting ready, hugging cats, and dodging snakes in the driveway, Dave and I arrived in Atlanta to the absolute most ridiculous driving directions ever printed off the internet. We got off I-85 at 249D, merged on I-75 to get of at Exit 249A to get on the correct street for our hotel but alas in the right hand land when we needed to be in the left hand lane. I used the handy dorky map to hide my face while Dave forced the car into the left hand lane to get into the hotel parking lot. After the typical unload and hotel check in, we started toward the Sheraton to get our badges.

We rounded the corner to the hotel and saw two lines wrapped around the outside the hotel. Giggling secretly to our selves we walked in the Eternal Member's door and stopped to ask where we needed to go. "Follow the yellow tape" we were told. So we start out following the tape. We walk and walk and walk. Once we get to the back of the hotel we find the VIP room. Following the same general shape as the yellow tape, we found the "Pre-Pay/Ticketmaster" line. When we saw the vendor selling drinks, hot dogs and candy exactly the same way they do at a sporting event, we asked someone, How long have you been in this line? "3 hours they said". HOLY CRAP. I am so glad we did not have to get in that line. We lined up in the VIP/Eternal Member line and w/in 10 minutes had our badges and a whole box of free books.

Next up, off to the YAL room to help decorate. The ladies did seem to have things undercontrol. I dropped of my donations and my craft display. We chatted w/ Bev and Mary a bit. We put up some posters and Dave played with Eleanor. Once I confirmed the Blood Drive would be open, Dave and I stopped off for some dinner, then I donated blood. I have my really cool "bleeding" Coffee Cup from the Vampire Diaries and a T shirt I will never wear. But they did collect 447 pints on Thursday and still had the rest of the weekend to collect.

Friday started with the hope that we might get into the William Shatner and Lenord Nimoy panel at 10 am. We made it to the Hyatt in plenty of time. However the line was out the building two floors up and around the hotel. We had the option of going to the overflow in the Marriot, but that line was wrapping around the inside of the hotel. Since we knew the Clarks were on the way, we decided we would wait for them and watch the Shatner/Nimoy panel live from our comfy hotel room on Dragon Con TV. Nice! The Clarks arrived and w/in 30 minutes had their badges and we met up for lunch in the Food Court. We headed straight to the Walk of Fame for autograph hunting. Sadly (or not) my list was short this year. It had Tom Felton and Louise Fletcher scribbled on it. We waited say 20 minutes in the Tom Felton line and had no wait in the Mrs. Fletcher line. Easy peasy! The other autograph is Peter Fancelli and he wont be here until Saturday. SO....We then headed to the dealers room were we browsed all the stalls and made a few purchases.

Not too much excitinment for today. The crowds were terrible. With Shanter only being here Friday and part of Saturday all the newbies were here for only one day. I am glad to report we have not encountered any Con-Body yet. There was someone donating blood dressed up at the Predator. Wierd.

Oh and some how we ended up on the party floor. Ugh.

I am watching one of my fav movies Miracle. I think my favorite part is when the first cut is being made and all the guys are nervous hoping to hear their name.

Nothing better than relaxing at home and not in a hotel. However I do have to go back to that same hotel on MONDAY.

But But...my OLD lap top was dying a slow painful death. I mean SLOW. David tried his best to fix it but the mother board was cracked and it worked sometimes but not all the time. So for my berf-day Dave purchased me a HP Netbook Mini. Vivienne Tam edition. It is so mega cute. I love it.

I have been busy between work, being sick and deaths. Two people I know through hockey died on the same day. Mrs. Greta's funeral was today. Larry's will be tomorrow. That was a hard couple of days. The most sad thing is that Larry killed himself. He was terminally ill but decided to take his own life. His daughter went to check on him and found his body. Mrs. Greta had stage 3 lung cancer. She had been waffling back and forth between getting better and getting worse and just finally could not hold on any longer.

My big boss decided to give me some pretty radical due dates on my last 4 stores. UGH! So I get to spend a week in Snellville starting Tuesday. My immediate boss is going with me. I so hate staying in hotels. (not including Dragon Con) I will be awash with cabin fever before it is over. 5 days to set a store. Humm. We will see.

i hope all my LJ friends are well. I have thought of you both very often.

First hockey game of the season, 1-6 loss. fans complaining. Ugly breast cancer jersey's.

Second game 2-1 OT WIN. Same ugly jersey's but next home game is Nov 15 and the guys will debut their regular uniforms. Time will tell how the fans react.

Tomorrow is spending some much needed time with my fam and cats.

Love to ya.
